Walk For Health

Students at Charleston Elementary School spent their lunch recess walking for their health last Friday in celebration of National Walk at Lunch Day. Patti Farrell, Special Educator and Wellness Coordinator, organized the activity. Students were rewarded with sports bags donated by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Vermont.
Ready, Set, Wear It!

On Saturday, May 18, 2013 Charleston Elementary School staff and students gathered with Chris McFarland of Clyde River Recreation and Beth Barnes of ikayak4u to help set a world record for the most life jackets worn and inflatable life jackets inflated. The goal was to educate the public about life jackets and safe boating in general.
Therapy Dog Visits

Linda Studer, a former Charleston Elementary School principal, brought her state licensed Vermont Therapy Dog, Schatzie, to school on Monday, May 6th, to visit with and be read to by the Charleston students. Schatzie and her owner will visit three more times before the end of the school year.
